The MALDI Biotyper System has become the method of choice for routine identification in clinical microbiology laboratories worldwide.

Bruker introduced the MALDI Biotyper solution in 2007 for clinical microbiology and since then it has quickly become established as the method of choice for routine clinical microbiology laboratories. The MALDI Biotyper is an automated next generation microbial identification system based on MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

It allows an unbiased identification of microorganisms within a few minutes down to the species level. The MALDI Biotyper is an easy, rapid, robust, high-throughput, cost-effective and efficient identification technology. Continued expansion of the library ensures that all clinically relevant microorganisms as well as more challenging organisms are included.

In addition to the RUO version, a U.S. FDA-cleared MALDI Biotyper CA System and IVD-CE version (according to EU directive EC/98/79) are also available. The MALDI Biotyper has medical device registrations in numerous other countries.
